The BEAT (The Boston Exchange for Accelerated Technology) is located on the site of the previously existing Boston Globe headquarters. The redevelopment created a 695,000 SF multi-tenant innovation park on 16.5 acres. The existing three-story office and industrial building was retained and retrofitted into a modern hub. 360,000 SF of office space, 300,000 SF of flex/light industrial and retail space, a 10,000 SF fitness center, and a 100-seat restaurant and micro craft brewery complete The BEAT. A multi-story atrium was constructed to create a main entrance and a central gathering area, as well as to allow ample light to enter. The use of curtain walls and upgraded windows also allow for additional natural light.
