Planet Hollywood is a 39-story resort and casino replacing the historic Aladdin Hotel on the Las Vegas strip in Paradise, Nevada. The 2,567-key resort represents a first for the design-build approach to a project on the super-fast track. Staggered trusses were utilized to provide column-free spaces below the hotel footprint. Precast plank provides the floor framing between the trusses. The lateral load resisting system is provided by two braced core structures and four separate bracing bents at the ends of the tower wings. Within the 390-foot structure are 60,835 SF of gaming space and the Miracle Mile Shops, a 1.2 mile retail mecca.
