The Boston Public Market is the first year-round indoor marketplace in the nation that prioritizes local and sustainable food options. Overlooking the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway, the 28,000 SF market was once the vacant ground-floor of the Department of Transportation’s existing office building. Now encompassing seven separate entrances, the Boston Public Market is home to 40 vendors, merchandising walls, and a 3,200 SF demonstration kitchen. The flexible, bright, and accessible market hall was constructed despite multiple site constraints including the Central Artery Tunnel ventilation shafts, the Haymarket subway station, a parking garage, and the RMV with complex infrastructure requirements.
