71 White Street is a hotel that was renovated from a 1930’s manufacturing building in the East Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. The 79,365 SF structure features eight stories and 100 keys. It was built using a partially re-used base structure and consists of steel trusses and cantilevers, column free spaces, long spans and overhangs. The graffitied façade and brick wall perimeters of the building were retained to preserve the site’s character. Retail is located on the lower levels and the third level includes an outdoor central promenade. The remaining five stories from the L-shaped hotel, topped with a rooftop bar.
