200 Main Street at MIT Kendall Square is a 14-story mixed-use building joining our previously completed projects, 238 Main Street and 314 Main Street, at MIT’s Kendall Square in Cambridge. The 500,000 SF building features research & laboratory space, office space, and retail at the base in addition to three stories of below-grade parking. The building’s dramatic cantilevered massing extends more than 88ft over the open landscape below. This is accomplished using double-story perimeter steel trusses and an exterior glass stair tower with braced frames. The steel trusses and frame are integral to the architectural expression and will be celebrated with bold yellow intumescent paint.
