| Description: |
The new Aladdin Hotel is a 2,600 room, thirty-eight story tower replacing the historic Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas, NV which was imploded in March 1998. As the anchor for a mixed-used retail mall and casino, the tower represents a first for the design-build approach to a project on the super fast track. The design provided by McNamara/Salvia, Inc., was developed with the steel fabricator SMI-Owen Steel Company of Columbia, SC.
Staggered trusses were utilized to provide column-free spaces below the hotel footprint. Precast plank provides the floor framing between the trusses. The lateral load resisting system is provided by two braced core structural and four separate bracing bents at the ends of the tower wings. |
